Remenyik Open
WOW what a day!
This was the largest Remenyik ever, with 117 fencers in the Mixed Epee. It was an A4 for (I think) the third year in a row. It might have been even larger, but several women dropped out to do only the Women's event (with 55, it was an A2!).
I placed 3rd, and my DE loss was a good bout against the guy who went on to win the event (Zingerman). I fenced better than I have in a long time, since at least the April NAC in Tucson. I felt great all day - relaxed, energetic, decisive, confident.
Sarah was one of the women who bailed on the Mixed event to focus on the Women's. :) She fenced well all day, too, and placed 5th! Her last DE was frustrating, but she was pleased with the day as a whole.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Domingo and Leah for driving up with me. They took all kinds of pictures and videos, including just about all of both Sarah's and my bouts in pools and DE's. We're so spoiled. I'm looking forward to seeing the footage.
